Next update will have:
*Final episode of "Traveller of Both Time and Space"
*Another installment of "Armies of the Jungle"
*Article from Jen on how she built her FT army
...and anything else I can throw in at the last minute. Should be posted this weekend.

Kewl! Can't wait to see what you made of it, and what the rest of you think. But what I'm really looking forward is the end of
Traveller.

ACK! Jen, I left my electronic copy of your article on my work computer...which I won't be back to until Monday. Do you have a copy you can e-mail me? kilgore@thewarp.zzn.com

Oops! I'm heading off to work now, but I'll try to get one to you tonight. Hang in there!
Edit: Sent, check your email. I look forward to seeing the result.
Re-Edit: Oops, forgot to attach it, and while it's also copy/pasted in the body of the email, it's copy/pasted
twice. So read carefully before you port it over to the Jungle...

Well, I stayed up late to read it, but it was well worth it!
Excellent ending to ToT&S... and that's all I'll say right now...
As for Jen's thoroughly detailed and thorughly enjoyable article, great work. An amry you care about is an army that will serve you well.
The "Fearful Symetry" is a great idea for a non-Chaos renegade chapter, lots of potential, evne more character, good luck on the table.

Hm. I was expecting a touch more editing... Either it needs more pics or some nip'n'tuck, because of all the references to pictures you didn't use. I'm thinking particularly of the sections on individual vehicles and characters. They might confuse readers a bit. Thoughts?
That said, I'm very happy it finally saw the light of day. It feels like coming full circle from my first twinge of interest in the Tigers (and with it, the 'Gate and 40K in general). Has it really been eight years?
I loved the ending to Traveller. A bit tragic. Are you developing something new to replace Talwar Chakram?

Fan mail for Jen, from a fellow named Sebastian:
QUOTE
Jen B.'s new stripey army looks amazing. I have a few requests for Jen if she can do this for the next few updates:
*Show more close ups of her army (individual views of a marine).
*Show characters as well (also individual views like what you do with yours Kenton).
*Show army list and points.
*Her views and thoughts on her new army as she play more games with Team Stripey.
And to answer your question re. "Traveller," yes, I'm developing another character. Expect to see him/her when I revise the FT Codex this fall (to line up with the new SM codex).

Jul 2 2008, 07:27 AM
Fan mail? Wow. Did you point him over to the 'Gate, where I have (or will be restarting shortly) a "Watch me spill paint" blog in the Modeling section, and a "How I got stomped yesterday" blog in Space Marines, which cover everything he wants to know?
That said, if you want more pics (that haven't been splashed across the 'Gate to bore a large segment of your readers already), I can get them to you. Just give me time to take some more... better... ones. Would you like a step-by-step "how to paint a Fighting Tiger" photo series for the new Codex, by the way?
Tiger Raja
Jul 2 2008, 08:36 AM
If you're up for writing a follow-up article, I'm all for it. Because your painting methods and mine are different, I don't know that a step-by-step photo shoot would be useful.

That was a nice update.
I Liked 'Em So Much, I Built My Own was a nice read. The Fearful Symmetry list looks like a good'un and the background is very cool. It also helped to remind me that I, some how, missed a few installments of Traveller of Both Time and Space. I'm gonna have to get caught up on that sooner then later.
Thanks.

I have been a fan of The Jungle for some time, and have wanted to send in some artical ideas and ask some questions (mostly pretaning to a theme for my IG army) but for some reason always end up getting nerves (for no good reason) and deciding not to.
Now for somthing compleatly different.
May I just say that The Jungle is easily one of my faverate sites and I visit it almost daily (I've probably read most articals 2-3 times) keep up the excelent work good sir

Nice update.
I like the Dvergar list, they look like they would be a tough nut to crack.

I do have one question though: The Dvergar are low tech, what are the background for their Zzap guns and Kustom Force Fields?

The CO5 lists are definitely getting me psyched. Great work on them. I look forward to playing against Sudra -- Jirbu will kick his tail.

My home PC died on Monday: I think it's the motherboard. September's update will be delayed if I can't get it fixed tout de suite.

Maybe...although it might be best to hold onto that until after the new codex comes out (though I don't know when that will be).
Tiger Raja
Aug 18 2008, 12:40 PM
Well, it wasn't the motherboard: it was some other, power-related piece. Good news is that it will cost $50 to replace. Bad news is that it will be about a week to get in the part. Bad news is that I'll have to get cranking on the update as soon as my PC is working again.

Dexter099
Aug 18 2008, 06:59 PM
So I'll start on it now and finish it when the new codex comes out?
I suppose I could do a Chaos Marine one, but the story isn't very long or exciting, and Warriors of Chaos is a fantasy army and not meant for the jungle...

Dex: Yeah, start it now, and finish it when the new DE comes out. Thanks.
Jen: Yeah, go ahead and e-mail me your stuff. I could attempt to update from my work PC, but it doesn't have the right software (or my files), so it would be a tremendous pain in the butt.

Well, you might have to content yourself with the past two months' updates, because I *still* don't have my PC home from the shop. While I have articles written out, they need to be formatted, and I still have to get the CO5 photos off my digital camera--none of which I can do without my PC.
I told the PC repair place that they need to get it back to me this week, but even if they do, I don't see how I'm going to get an update in place by September 1. Dammit!

If those f***tards had just ordered the damned replacement part when they said they were going to, I wouldn't have this problem.

Well Tiger, those of us here at the Gate know what is going on. I admire your desire to gt it updated on the first of every month, but I think everyone here and elsewhere completely understand. Just put a little blurb about it in your update when you post it.
Maybe you can entice the machine spirit of your computer to "infect" the repair place...or just take a flamer and light the place up...
