I will tell you, lucky reader, the stories.
I then proceeded to brick my morale test and ran like a little girl.
At this point I think it prudent to concede a devastating loss.
I valiantly destroy a rhino, and nothing else…
Josh kills one of my attack bikes (Attack Bikes are awesome) He also uses bolt pistols to kill 3 marines. (WTF?)
The predator kills an Attack Bike. (I love Attack Bikes)
Writers note: Black Templars re-rolling misses is re-god-damn-diculous. I got PUMMELED in close combat.
Kentons Attack Bikes arrive (Game Over) they turbo boost.
Kentons attack bikes destroy my falcon, god they’re awesome.
The attack bikes destroy another falcon (that’s 2 falcons, throw your speeders away.)
*writers note: my loyal scribe wrote on the report that I admit to being “possibly retarded”, no offense to anyone.
I roll the die of destiny again, turn 7 it is. I have to stop rolling sixes, its like an addiction.

Too Damn Funny!
Mike, you played 5 games in one day? You ill, ill chimp.

Outstanding stuff. Now why do I feel a compulsion to buy attack bikes?

The reason that I only played 2 games on Sunday was because I participated in an Apocalypse game.
I will say once again, with the arrival of the New Codex: Space Marines, Attack Bikes get cheaper.

How would you rate the performance of your Multimelta devs and those attack bikes Saintomerville?
Saint Omerville
Oct 1 2008, 12:53 PM
Gnome: I am running an amazingly sweet campaign right now. One thing that I have discovered through experience is that world-building is fun, but leaves the PC's feeling lost (even in a world they "grew up" in.) I am running forgotten realms, so if a PC is from Waterdeep and the player has never heard of it, there are lots of resources available.
Justy: Attack Bikes are furiously good at everything they do. When they turboboost, they are tough to kill with heavy weapons and small arms fire, allowing them to always be where they are needed. Salamander Attack Bikes with free twin-linked Multi-Meltas are insane-good. I usually run mine as infantry killing Heavy Bolter Variants (they can still wreck vehicles with a now "all rear armor" krak grenade) Attack Bikes are my best performing unit.
As for the devastators with Multi-meltas I think they are better now because I can set up last, not allowing my opponent to hide from them. The AP 1 means that I can still glance-kill AV 14 vehicles from 24. The Multi-Melta is also dirt-cheap. (free for some new space marines) I have only played roughly 2 games with the MM's but I have a good feeling about them.
I am currently working on the Iyanden Project right now.

Nice update. Any reason you have taken out the autocannons you used to have in some of your line squads? Is it the improvement in the blast rules or something else?
Saint Omerville
Nov 7 2008, 12:31 PM
The squads that originally had autocannons were also the ones that carried my plasma.
Removing the autocannons makes the squads cheaper and does not reduce their firepower while on the move.
With the advent of the new vehicle rules, str 7 is no longer that useful in removing AV 12/13 vehicles.
More kids are now using land raiders for their extreme resilience, atuocannons simply cannot hurt them.
The missile launchers now provide anti-tank, using frag missiles fills the hole that the autocannon left behind.
Do not expect to see the autocannon in any list under this codex.
Also, if you are feeling really dirty and have 88 points to spare...

We should have a reasonable turnout - before we started circulating the fliers we've already gotten like 5 or 6 people to register to game.

I apologize if this may be just whoring the event, but we're really excited about it.

I like the Sisters army list you posted on your blog: rock solid! I predict you will kick major amounts of putrid xeno and heretic tail. And I love this quote:
QUOTE
The most important aspect is scoring units, lets review the options available for TROOPS. We have 2 choices: Inquisitorial Storm Troopers or Sisters of Battle. Now, the choice for this is painfully obvious, if it is not obvious I will spell it out; Sisters of Battle are leaps and bounds better than Storm Troopers. Feel free to argue that with me, but be warned, my retort will be an open hand slap to your mouth, for preaching such heresy.

The biggest threats to me are well designed Ork, Tyranid, and Marine Drop Pod lists.

I like the Ork article you posted. Very useful! My eyes have been opened to the ridiculously low point costs for Orks, and I'm glad that I have a crapload of Slugga and Shoota Boyz in my army.
Saint Omerville
Jan 22 2009, 06:28 AM
The shoota boys are often overlooked when building an ork list.
I have lost 10 man marine squads from the fire of a squad of shoota boys...
-Mike

Jan 22 2009, 06:43 AM
Way back when I played orks, I found a unit (or two) of shoota boyz to be like a secret weapon. People would lay waste to slugga boyz in their turn, and then panic as the shootas opened fire and eook off a relatively decent unit whole.
Of course, once opponents worked out that trick, then I had to come up with others...
Saint Omerville
Jan 22 2009, 08:27 AM
With the new codex, shoota boys can fire then assault, making them all that much better.

Excellent analysis of the DE on the blog, mein freund. I would argue, though, that Warp Beasts are a good, cheap "nuisance" unit that can tie up Devastators or other shooty units for a turn or two--anything to keep the big guns from targetting your Raiders! I am also curious why you overlooked the sheer badass awesemnitude of webway portals.
Saint Omerville
Feb 6 2009, 01:03 PM
A new player asked me for advice on Dark Eldar.
I offered him 3 main list builds (Mech, Webway, and DL Spam)
He chose Mechanized. I did not include Webway because he didn't ask for it. Believe me, Webway should not be overlooked.
I hope to include Both webway and DL spam in the next version...
As for the Warp Beasts, they are great, but not in a Mechanized build.
I am in the process of a Tau writeup now.

Only two things to point out:
1) Wyches do not have Sybarites. they have Succubi. Sexy, vicious little harlots that they are

2) Your Hexenjaeger list *could* be more bland, but I don't know how. Sure, it's effective, but *yawn* so are Ork Nob Bikers...
Other than that, I miss gaming with you and reading your blog always makes me laugh

Oh! I know! GW could introduce Sister Novices--say, WS3, BS3, S/T3, I3, Armor 5+ and they don't get Faith Points--not 'faithful yet' and all that. Oh, and let the squads choose between any of the Imperial specials *and* any of the Imperial Heavies... And since they don't have access to Exorcists, let them take Leman Russ as Heavy Support...
One thing that *really* makes me laugh is that the Codex disallows Marines as Allies in a list with Sisters, *but* the Codex (including sisters) can be used as Allies in a Marine list... that's some thorough thinking through there. (and a nice aliteration too!)
You are right, though. There are really only two troops choices in Hexenjaeger list: Sisters with Rhino and Sisters without Rhino. Stormtroopers are Junk. Funny, but invariably Junk. Even using Arbiters with Shotguns and Flamers, led by an eviscerator wielding Priest they are poop.

His deployment was pretty awful (spread out along his entire edge) he basically ran every unit forward (literally) I was able to envelop him and pick apart units piecemeal. P.S. It seems to me that if a site is going to treat you guys like that then you don't really want to be associated with them anyway. "You don't need my business? Fine, I'll take it somewhere else." Luckily, Mark (Owner of Area 31) offered us the use of his 2,150 square foot basement. A truly awesome move. All we have to do is throw up some shelves and tables. (I exercised some extreme carpentry this weekend.)
On the odd subject of gamers social skills...
I was at a party on Saturday night at a friends house, a young lady noticed my tattoo and asked if it was for DnD. I answered that it was and that I play every other Friday. Her response was "Wow, you don't look like the kind of person who would play DnD". I am not sure if that was an insult or a compliment.
