Hmmm... missed this when I went off to work this morning. Konichiwa anyway folks.
Name: Alistair, but my mates call me Davross. Higly intelligent, but think I'm even more so, arrogant, egotistical, psychotic, throughly evil, utterly crazy (I'm told), and my lower half is that of a dalek when I go in crowds, so enough said.
Location: Waterlooville, UK
Gaming: Local store, plus student society & solent wargamers group
Armies:
Um... I don't have Necrons. Or Nids. Or Orcs & Goblins. Or Bretonnians. Or Lizardmen.
Escher Gang.
Skaven, Shadow Warrior and Marienburger warbands.
I don't have a necron or Tau fleet.
Imp Guard epic (don't recommend it - so much fiddlyness!)
Anamathlian Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor with 14 strong warband (28mm before you ask)
Tetragrammaton cleric of the administratum, with his brain on legs investigator and small stormtrooper cadre for when he needs numbers
Probably still got my wood elf bloodbowl team somewhere
Some Hordes stuff I still haven't opened
A full Clan Jade Falcon Trinary (YAY!)
A few House Steiner mechs I got to loan people
Bits & bobs in general
So the short answer is, yes.
Points values are somewhere between 1000pt tokens to at the annual end of exams all society game (about 20 people) I was one side...
Other Interests:
Um... Also yes. Ah well, let's take up more space.
Roleplaying in general, not just D&D. My Rp books take up more space than my armies would you believe.
Anime & manga. Otaku since I was six, ever since my granddad brought me the original Gundam series back from Japan. I do have a weakness for my giant combat robots.
Sci Fi in general, but in particular Marvel/DC, original Star Wars, Star Trek, new Battlestar Galactica, Stargate and Dr Who. I bet the last one came as a surprise, eh?

Metal, Goth stuff and Indy. Particularly Korn, Lacuna Coil, the Gorillaz and the Pillows
Martial Arts (I've studied several, my Kenjitsu is a 1st Dan and my Iaido a 3rd. Grade 2 Krav Maga if you're interested)
Re-enactment, I'm a proud member of the Neville Household of the Federation of the Wars of the Roses. I'm the crazy bloke in half plate and being pushed about in a big semi armoured wheelbarrow at Bosworth 2006 if you're interested.
Japanese (big surprise there, eh?)
History (particularly miltary), Physics, Maths, the law
Although it sounds a little crass, reading. Pretty much anything, but a lot of Middleton, Blake, Donne & Herbert as well as the ones you expect like Abnett, Donalson, Geddings, Gemmall and Fiest.
And of course, world domination. But that goes without saying, being an evil genius and all.
Current projects:
Finish my 18 year old, 9000pt (current ed) Chaos Marines
6000pts samurai marines
2000pts token force of Iron Snakes
Finish my 18 year old 21,000pt (current ed) High Elves
Finish my 16 year old 10,000pt (current ed) Imp Guard. I've got the rifle platoons, the command/weapons platoons & the armoured company done. Currently consolidating spares into a mix of remenant squads and seeing if I have enough to run an Armoured Fist platoon.
Repaint my 3000pts of Ogres
Finish my 6000pts of Vampire Counts
Finish my 4000pts Chaos mortals
Do my 3/4000pts of Empire
Rejig my Dark Elves to the new book
Go back to redo my BFG fleets
Rejig my eldar (and chuck in the forgeworld avatar with spear who is just cool)
Errr.... Um.... I think I'd better do/have someone do for me some painting.....

-I joined the original manifestation of the Millenium Gate shortly after its creation around the turn of the century.
-I (along with a fella named xPashax) took over mod duties shortly after Tiger Raja retired from that position.
-It has been my distinct priveledge to meet many of the gamers from this forum, either at Borderlands in Greenville, or other assorted states and countries. I plan on continuing that tradition in less than a month's time with a couple of great guys who might just actually be lovers--they seem to spend enough time in each other's company.
-I'll be living in Fairborn (greater Dayton), Ohio after about August 4th.
-My handle I stole from an historical figure I came across while reading Herodotus.
-I will be attending grad school at Wright State University for a master's in Public History.
-My wife Annette (a.k.a. the Snugglepack) makes a whole lot more money than I ever will and that's just fine with me.
-I'll be leaving a damned fine LGS called the Game Shoppe when I depart Omaha but hope to find suitable replacements when I get to Ohio thanks to Griz and Kurgan.
40K:
-A couple thousand points each of Deathwing and DIY Marines (the Emperor's Wolfhounds)
-I sold off several thousand points of Dark Eldar and Dark Angels.
WFB:
-Several thousand points of green goodness
-A couple thousand points of Chaos mortals
Flames of War:
-U.S. Airborne (101st)

I really fell for the Space Marine fluff and so they are still my favs, and since these particular minis were of a dark green plastic (the eldar were grey, orks dark blue), I decided they were Dark Angels. Since that day, I've always liked the DA's, even with the dresses and questionable allegiance during the Horus Heresy, maybe even because of it.

I've painted marines as several different (made up) DA successor chapters, but I've never finished an army. I've always tweaked the color scheme, or changed the chapter symbol, etc, etc... Now, I've finally decided to paint actual Dark Angels, thanks to the Foundation Paints. (If you haven't tried them, you should!) Progress is slow, but I'm really happy with the finished minis so far, all 11 of them.

Apart from 40k, I really enjoy Space Hulk and Dark Future. I also have Space Crusade, HeroQuest, Advanced HeroQuest, and a bunch of other old GW games I haven't tried yet. Oh, and Warhammer Quest rocks, as well!
Projects:
1750pts Dark Angels list. (11 brothers finished, so far... with another 19 built but unpainted.)
1750pts Orks (Bikes! 10 almost finished minis... Built that is, not painted...)
Plans:
I want to run an Ordo Xenos Kill Team campaign in Space Hulk, with loads of Genestealer Hybrids. The new Vampire Counts Crypt Ghouls have really tickled my imagination for some conversions. I haven't actually started anything yet, though....
Oh, and I have a ton of other plans as well. Only time will tell if anything will actually happen.
Trivia #1: "Stig" is the swedish word for "path".
Trivia #2: No, we don't have polar bears in Sweden.

Location: The archipelago of suburban hamlets stretched out between DC and Baltimore like taffy at a boardwalk confectioner's stand. (The taffy analogy might wear a little thin with regards to urban development, but makes perfect sense if you've driven around here. And that Beltway? Forgetaboutit.)
Gaming: Nothing from 2002 until CO5, but now maybe that Dream Wizards joint
Armies:
2K Vanilla Marines (The GreyHammers)
Websites:
Used to have one, but I let it go fallow and the Warp mercifully pulled it before it started stinking up the place.
Other Interests:
Computers (both by inclination and profession)
Reading (Both "thinkin' books" and sci-fi)
Using ten words when three would be adequate (as well as parenthetical asides)
Photography (another hobby that fell by the wayside these last few years)
Background:
I used to be a regular poster back in the days of EZ boards and years that started with "1", but fell off the wagon (or got on the wagon, depending on your viewpoint) around 2002 until recently. But I got the paints all rehydrated and the models out of storage, so we'll see if I can get back up to speed.
Projects:
1. Regluing the storage casualties.

2. An ad-hoc squad consisting of cast-outs from other chapters, especially armies that beat me (this is most of them).

Everything else is on hold until I see the new marine codex. Before I'd just gotten to the point where I had the look I wanted and was looking back at some old squads with a keen desire to break that cardinal rule of remaking for the sole purpose of purtiness. But if I need to adjust the army list anyway, I figure a new edition is a good time to rewrite the backstory and bring it up to speed with how the chapter (ie, my play style) has evolved.

Location: Bel Air, Maryland
Gaming at: GW Battle Bunker, GW Bel Air, GW White Marsh. I also like Dream Wizards, MD Comics, and Renaissance Games. I miss Legends of Towson.
Armies: This is a problematic topic. I have thousands of points of: Raven Guard, Templars, Space Wolves, Eldar and Imperial GUard. I have in boxes a couple thousand High Elves and Brettonians. I have in boxes hundreds of points of Rohan, Minas Tirith and Numenor...
But I have recently decided to cut back and am only going to be collecting for three armies....Raven Guard, High Elves and Numenor.
Everything else is going in a display case or being sold. If you want Eldar, check out the next Mercenary Market at GW Battle Bunker in Glen Burnie!
Other interests: Roller Derby! www.charmcityrollergirls.com. 80's music, and football. Go Ravens! Mexican, Japanese, Chinese and good ole football food ( buffalo wings, chili etc) and Irish pubs ( Sean Bolan's for the win). I like Guinness, Pyrat Rum and Don Julio Tequila. I really would love to get into historical miniatures, but there is no GW of Napoleonics.

Hello fellow gamers!
Name: Jeff
Location: McKinney TX
Gaming at: Currently storeless. Never played a true 40k (or Warhammer for that matter) game, yet have followed it since Rogue Trader whilst collecting various bits and books. Previous to this have been a hardcore historical gamer. Currently play historical WWII and ACW w/cameras over the net with my brother in Chicago, IL.
Armies: 99% unbuilt as I have only recently started into 40k/Warhammer; no idea on point percentages. Just organizing this stuff for storage has been a major pain.
Space Marines (to be broken amongst multiple company-size units - I dig the old style look of Rogue Trader vs. today though)
Dark Eldar
Eldar (probably enough for two "company" units)
Chaos Marines (large number of Emperor's Children and World Eaters somehow)
Imperial Guard
Imperial Guard Rebel/Chaos
Tyranid
Orks
Various interesting other armies (I have recently begun picking up units from Pig Iron and Warzone lines...very interesting stuff.)
____________
Empire
High Elves
Dark Elves
Wood Elves
Orcs
Goblins
Bretonnia
Chaos/Beastmen
Vampire Counts
Tomb Kings
Dwarves
Chaos Dwarves
Dogs of War (mostly Tileans)
Was also hoping to get a Kislev army started somewhere. I dig the Polish-inspired Winged Hussars.
Other interests: Flying (I fly a Cessna 172, or did before the price of fuel went through the roof), running, food/cooking, history (focus on Ancient Rome and Greece as well as 11th-14th century Europe), classical music, rare books, architecture, medical sciences, philosophy.

A quick bio about myself since I'm new here. I began playing Warhammer 40,000 at the very beginning of 3rd Edition and only at the behest of a massive advertising campaign by the local hobby store "Hobby Town USA". Well, I went in and happened upon a group of players trying out the new rules for 3rd edition on some very impressive boards built by the owner of the shop (who was an avid collector and artist, but was hard to get to join in on games). After watching them, listening to the cheering and groans in equal measure, and seeing the pure enjoyment everyone was having...I was hooked. So I began my journey into the game of 40k. Fast forward many years, and I've now refined my original Space Marine armies (Ultramarines) into the Black Templar chapter after finding their background and zealousness much to my liking. Not to mention, I love to get in your face as opposed to hiding in the back shooting. I've also corrupted several of my friends into playing 40k and find regular opponents of the Space Elves, the Traitor Legions, the Trash Compactors, and the Zerg via their armies. I'm also going to try my hand at the Dark Eldar because I love close combat, and they do it well! Not to mention its supposed to be one of the hardest, if not THE hardest, armies to play properly. I say bring it on! Though, I'm debating waiting until the new codex is released (I happened upon a transcript of a podcast on one of the billion sites I was researching the DE on saying it would be released after the IG codex and before the end of the year), I'm hoping there will be an official announcement shortly or else I'll just have to deal with the old codex for the time being. Oh, I'm also from the Twin Cities in Minnesota if anyone is around the area, feel free to holler my way.
Now that you know a bit about me, I'm just here to check out the place. Everyone needs an e-group right? You can blame Tiger Raja for me being here as I've taken a liking to his Jungle site, it is quite humorous to read. Hey to everyone here.

Alrighty. Now that it's unlocked, I'll throw my intro up here!
QUOTE (DeathFrisbee2000 @ Nov 27 2009, 11:07 AM)

Thought I'd introduce myself quick-like. I'm DeathFrisbee2000. *waves*
I was into 40k and on this forum early in the millennium, but life took me away from both for awhile. I'm back now, and into the hobby again. My interest was re-spawned by the creation of a gaming shop in my town that had tables to play on and people to actually play with!
I play a small 'Nids army (not quite 800 points), though it will grow if I ever get the cash to buy more GW products. It's enough to consistently beat the pants of my brother, Cambyses, though, so I don't complain.
If anyone on this forum plays in the Black Hills area of South Dakota, lemme know. I only can beat Camby on the few times he visits each year, and I need more biomass to assimilate into my gene-pool!
Thanks for unlocking this for me.
