What's up Gaters? Long time no post.
I'm moving down to North Carolina in September/October, and there's a game store right outside the base. I talked with them and they said they're really big into 40K down there. So I thought I would brush off the dust, and get my Deathwing ready for some combat.
They're unpainted at the moment, and I was thinking about what color to paint them. Sure, bleached bone is the 'traditional' color, but I already painted an army that color.
And then it struck me, I don't have a pink 40K army. Some green putty for ribbons on their right arms, and black for their gun cases.
Here's my 2K list:
Belial, Master of the Pinkwing (Lightning claws)
Interrogator Chaplain Charles (Termi Armor)
Venerable Dreadnaught Komen (Lascannon, Missle launcher, extra armor, Venerable)
Belials Command Squad (Apoth w/Thudnerhammer+SS, Standard bearer w/Thunderhammer+SS, 3 Lightning Claws)
Komens Command Squad (2 Thudnerhammer+SS, 3 Lightning Claws)
Capture Deathwing Squad (Assault Cannon, Chainfist, Sgt w/P-Weapon) x2
Take and Hold Deathwing Squad (Cyclone ML, Chainfist, Sgt w/p-Weapon) x2
So in 2K, there's 6 Troop choices of Terminators, with Belial and the Chaplain joining the assault squads. The Cyclone squads are there to grab objectives on my side of the board, while the assault cannon squads are there to take objectives from the enemy. Both assault squads will Deep Strike, with Belials squad coming in turn 1, with the Chaplain's squad entering normally turn 2+. The Dreadnaught is there as long range support, to neutralize targets from range that would be a problem for the Terminators.
And, just to be an ass, I'm going to be using the rules for the Narcatheum and Storm Shield from the Space Marine codex, because they're better than those from the Dark Angel Codex. Yar.
32 Terminators on the board. That's just all sorts of nummy!

Hey, everybody, the Squid's alive! Have a good time?
I think this is a great idea, but you might want to wait on "finalizing" your army list until the new Dark Angel Codex comes out. Deathwing have been pretty well established, unit-wise, for a long time, so I doubt you'll have any major changes.
I wouldn't "borrow" the Space Marine Rules without your opponent's permission, though. Most people should be willing to work with you, but some won't. And stealing rules doesn't work in a tourney, so some people practicing for a tourney environment my not want to let you house-rule it, either.

Meh, i have the models, so playing with the list is no worries.....when is the new codex supposed to come out?
And as for the rules, it's in the FAQ that people really should allow it...and if they're that anal retentive that they won't let me use the same item, but one that's obviously the 'newer' version of the rules, well then...I likely didn't want to play them anywho.
And i'm sure they'll see tons of Deathwing in the tournament scenes.

I haven't seen Deathwing at all, but I don't really do tourneys...
All Deepstriking armies seem to be hit or miss, since your termies can't assault the turn they come in and bad scatters can ruin the army. IG have lots of toys that would ruin your day.
I wish you the best of luck in painting your army

Actually, i don't deepstrike with my army. I do with Belial and his squad (and maybe with the other assault unit), but the other terminators set up and walk across the board.
Pew pew!

I'm really liking this project, and I'm looking forward to seeing the result! Both as a long time DA collector, and as a long time boob lover!

And if you want to name each Marine in the 1st company, I give you an old, classic that I love.
99 words for BoobsNow you just need to think of one more for 100!
